The Government Guaranteed Home Assistance Mortgage program (GGHAM) was introduced by the NHDT in 2008 to assist low to middle income earners with the ability to obtain a mortgage whereby the Cayman Islands Government would guarantee up to 35% of the Deposit amount required by the applicant for a mortgage with participating banks. Currently this program is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul by the Cayman Islands Government to bring it up to date with the current markets needs.
